Hon. RJ Echiverri, the National President of the Liga ng mga Barangay sa Pilipinas has been working for the extension of the term of barangay and sangguniang barangay officials all the country. Together with the Liga’s National Executive Board (NEB), Liga President Echiverri has appealed to the leaders of both Houses of Congress for support and explained the need to have the term extended at this point in time. The NEB passed Resolution No. CA-PRJME-05-000040 s 2012 expressing support to all the bills filed in Congress which were subsequently consolidated and submitted for further deliberation and eventual approval.
